Long Distance Relationship with a Marine Pilot

Let’s all be honest, starting a long-distance relationship makes you feel like a scary movie is waiting to be played. When you are dating someone, it is hard to even imagine being in the scenario of dating long distance. Dating a partner that brings all your hopes and dreams to reality is such a beautiful thing, and not being around each other for a long period of time can “grow the heart fonder” as they say. I want to give you some advice and tips to help you through the tough and bittersweet times of love from afar.

I am in a relationship with a (smoking hot) marine pilot. He lives in big Texas and I live in the sunshine state of Florida. Virtual dates are the thing nowadays along with sweet morning texts, bond touch bracelets (will explain more later), and messages in the bottle help the days go faster until you can finally see each other. I am not going to lie and layer this cake with icing, it is hard and saddening most times. BUT there are things to do to help the time go by and help the process.

I have totally gone old school in writing letters, no millennials not texts, not even emails!!! I am talking SUPER old school and writing out cute little love letters talking about my day and how I am feeling at that moment. I believe that when he gets home from a rough day and when he checks his mail and sees my name it melts all the worries of the day away (at least for a few minutes). How cute are these go-to letters for writing!

Get on your phone/laptop/tablet like it is going out of style and facetime your bae!! I am a student, full-time mommy, and work full time, and I am always facetime him when we can while “doing life”. He is busy with studying for flight school and all so even if we do not talk for 5 to 10 minutes, we are studying, or I am tucking my boys to bed I feel like he is there when he is on the screen. He is not much of a Netflix/Hulu junkie like I am, but we pick a show to watch and we watch it together and that feels really nice.

These go-to gadgets are the hot new item for any lovers that cannot be near each other for a long period of time. When you purchase these bracelets on Amazon, they will deliver both to you then you and your partner will have to give the bracelets a nice long charge. Once you have put distance in between you guys and you want them to know that you are thinking of them, you are ok, or just simply to make them smile you tap the bracelet and it gives theirs a light vibration along with a pop of color of their choice. How cute is that!!! You can customize the colors with whatever fits your style! The link is below so that you can check them out!

Before he left to go to Texas I got a mason jar and wrote down a whole bunch of reasons why I love him so that he can reach in the jar and grab one out every day. He really enjoys this because even though I may not be around or available to talk he still can read something from me, and I put a smile on his face 😊. I know super mushy gushy but hey, it’s what keeps the love on fire baby. I also found this cute message in the bottle on Amazon with letters ready to be written on and it is SUPER cute. I am going to try this one out next time (maybe as a Christmas gift, shhh). I posted the link below for you to check out!

I do hope that this gives you some extra ideas to add to your long-distance relationship. Stay strong and stay busy! You will find the time will come sooner for a reunion!

As someone who’s done long distance for 2 years, I can say that it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
    Loved this. ❤️

Long distance is a difficult journey to go on but I feel like facetime has definitely helped! Even if we don’t talk for a long time and just “doing life” it helps! Much love to you Christina!

I think a hand written letter is the most romantic thing anyone could ever do.
